New $1.5 Billion Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino Unveiled

Las Vegas High Rises

The Cosmopolitan is coming to Las Vegas. The two 53-story glass towers will be located at Las Vegas Blvd and Harmon Ave and is scheduled to break ground in early 2005.

The project has already received county planning approval. The towers will house 2,400 timeshare, condominium and hotel units ranging from 600-900 sq ft in addition to a 70,000 sq ft casino.

The Cosmopolitan, according to a January 20, 2005 article in The Las Vegas Business Press, is a project by a development consortium called 3700 Associates. The project, which is scheduled to break ground in early 2005, will be located at a prime site on Las Vegas Blvd and Harmon, right by the Bellagio. The property was purchased not too long ago for $90 million.

The project is large compared to some of the other high rise developments that have been approved. The Cosmopolitan will cover 4 million sq ft and have two 53-story aqua-colored towers that house condominium, time share and hotel units ranging from 600-900 sq ft.

According to the same article, the Cosmopolitan will have 400 feet of Strip frontage and a 3,000-space underground parking garage.

Amenities in the Cosmopolitan are planned to include:

  • Restaurants
  • Beach Club
  • 70,000 sq ft Casino
  • 1,800 seat theater
  • 150,000 sq ft convention and meeting room area
  • Retail stores
