Hard Rock Plans Call for Condos

The Hard Rock plans to build a 1.5 million sq ft hotel and condo project on the land adjacent to the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The project is designed to be a mixed-use, master planned development. Current plans call for four buildings and at least 1,500 hotel-condominium units. Construction is slated to begin in 2005.

According to a Septemeber 2004 article in the Las Vegas Review Journal, Peter Morton, chairman and founder of the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino, bought the 24-acre parcel of land for $86 million.

The plans for the project show 1,500 condo units. The architects said that it will be unlike anything else we've seen in Las Vegas.

Morton says he wants to give people "a chance to own part of the Hard Rock."

The condo units will be studios, one bedroom, two bedroom units and penthouses. The first phase of the project is scheduled to break ground in 2005 and completed in about a year after it's started.
