Opinions on Light Rail System Vary

The Regional Transportation Commission met recently and took a vote to determine the overall acceptance of a light rail system running from North Las Vegas to Henderson. According to a June 2005 article in the Las Vegas Review Journal, four out of every five responses showed support for the proposed light rail system.

For people living within one mile of the proposed route, 70.9% support the line, but that figure falls to 59.7% for those people living within a quarter-mile of the planned rail system, according to the article.
